Evan currently teaches lessons full time at The Metropolitan Conservatory in Overland Park, KS.  From 2010-2019 Evan served as the assistant director of the Kansas City Youth Percussion Ensemble. Evan has performed throughout the midwest with the Mikey Needleman Band (www.mnband.com) and has opened for many artists such as Matt Nathanson, Simple Plan, Rachel Platten, For King & Country, and Plain White T’s.  He can be heard on Mikey Needleman's albums Your Ways (2015) and We Ask of You (2017).  

In addition to live band work, he has recorded drums for various studio projects, played drum set and percussion for several musical theater productions.  He has played drums for several different churches, and was a member of the worship team at Church of the Resurrection West from 2013-2022.  Passionate about education, Evan has served as percussion instructor at Shawnee Mission South, Olathe Northwest, and Bishop Miege High School.

Evan has studied with Go Go Ray, Keith Larson, Todd Strait, Jim Riley (Rascal Flatts), John Kizilarmut, and Doug Auwarter.  In 2013 he graduated from the UMKC Conservatory with a degree in percussion performance.  At UMKC, he studied percussion with Jim Snell, and drum set with Michael Warren.

When Evan is not teaching, playing, or practicing music, he enjoys spending time with his family.  He has a wife named Casey, a son named Cohen, a daughter named Millie, and a large great dane named Zoe.
